The foundation of this bracelet is very thin turquoise plastic thread, acting as the weft - wound tightly around a bamboo base. Fulani women artisans in the most rural areas of Mali create, completely by hand, the extraordinarily detailed patterns by intricately weaving a design with a contrasting color - white - as the warp. This quality is rare; the level of detail and beauty of each bracelet is stunning.
